Donations to Bali
I'm offering donation-based Yoga classes to raise funds to go towards care packages for the people of Bali. I believe in selfless service, 'Seva' giving without receiving and through my Yoga, I hope to improve the well-being of people in Bali.
The community in Bali are close to my heart, I had visited before and fell in love with the island, and in 2018 I completed my Yoga Teacher Training in Ubud. The local people are the sweetest I have met and made me feel so welcome. I am devastated to hear about the impact Coronavirus is having on Bali and the rest of Indonesia. If you have ever been to Bali, you have probably experienced the generosity of the Balinese people's overflowing hearts.
Effects of COVID-19
The island has been hit hard by the ripple- effects of COVID-19 as its economy almost exclusively depends on tourism. As the weeks go on and the streets of Bali stay empty, many people have lost their jobs, and many locals are struggling to feed their families.
Help on the Ground
I am teaming up with Ananda Soul Creations, an ethical Jewellery Maker in Ubud, Bali. Their staff coordinates with local governments and other aid organisations to ensure donations are distributed efficiently and fairly, and all donations provide local Families with food packages.
Ananda Soul has been running the Adopt a Balinese Family In Need donation scheme for many years. They provide food and support for local Families, sending out food packages and empowering underprivileged families in Bali by hiring local mothers of street children. By employing these mothers, Ananda Soul helps interrupt the cycle of poverty. In addition, a portion of each jewellery order goes towards the scheme and sponsoring the tuition of an underprivileged child in the North of Bali. You can find out more about Ananda Soul and donate directly via their website: Ananda Soul Creations.
How can I help?
♡ 100% of donations to their Adopt a Family initiative will go to purchasing the contents of care packages and distributing them to families in the villages.
♡ Just $15/€14/£12 feeds a family of 4 for one week. As of last weekend, collected donations have already provided an entire month's worth of food and necessities for over 130 Balinese families.
Let's help them keep the momentum going and show some love to the generous Balinese people as they have to us.
Much love,
Kim
